Sheet Metal Relief

When you apply a relief option to the selected corner the list shows the option applied.

Sheet metal relief.

For example if you make a partial flange as above using all the defaults the software makes relief cuts at the end of the bends as shown to the right. Lists corners to which you can apply corner relief. Though bend relief lengths and widths vary between projects they all share a common goal. Click the create relief tool button on the sheet metal ribbon tab.

Select an item see the note below. Lets you select the sheet metal body to which the corner relief is applied. In the corner relief propertymanager under scope select the sheet metal body to which to apply the corner relief. Under corners click collect all corners to list all corners in the sheet metal body.

Do one of the following. In sheet metal a bend relief is an incision cut along the sides of a planned bend. Choose create relief in the sheet metal menu. Click corner relief sheet metal toolbar or insert sheet metal corner relief.

Preventing tearing and part deformation during the bending process. Enter relief size by bend radius ratio or force bend reliefs. You can add a corner relief to a single sheet metal body. Synchronous sheet metal is pretty cool even cooler than just normal synchronous modeling if you ll excuse that word.

When you select a corner it is highlighted in the graphics area. When sheet metal makes a transition from a bend to a flat surface or to another bend it tends to rip and tear. Type smreliefcreate in the command bar.
